A composed of highly microvesicular glass pyroclastic with very thin, translucent bubble walls of extrusive igneous rock. Pumice is highly porous, giving its excellent water and air holding properties that permit ample roots aeration as well as optimum moisture entrapment which encourages beneficial bacterial activities.
